{"id":6737,"date":"2018-09-25T08:26:08","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T08:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flyroyalbrunei.com\/peoples-republic-china\/?page_id=6737"},"modified":"2023-05-19T14:56:20","modified_gmt":"2023-05-19T06:56:20","slug":"air-cargo-air-mail-consignment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.flyrb.cn\/china\/en\/information\/air-cargo-air-mail-consignment\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Cargo &#038; Airmail Consignment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column el_id=&#8221;margin_bottom_null&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;first_heading_h2&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Air Cargo<\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]General public and travelers may inadvertently send potentially dangerous goods items as air cargo consignment on Royal Brunei Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>IATA (International Air Transport Association) classified dangerous items into 9 Hazard Classes in the Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR).<\/p>\n<p>Dangerous goods must be properly packed, marked, labeled and declared by appropriately trained, competent and authorized persons. There is a label for each class to convey the nature of the hazard, which must appear on the outside of the package. Refer to IATA Dangerous Goods Classification and Hazard Labels for Dangerous Goods below.<\/p>\n<p>Some dangerous goods are too dangerous to be carried by aircraft, others may be carried on cargo aircraft only and some are acceptable on both cargo and passenger aircraft subjected to limitations and conditions imposed. An obvious alternative is sending by land or sea.<\/p>\n<h2>Airmail Consignment<\/h2>\n<p>Airmail consignment of Equipment Containing Lithium Batteries (ECLB) must be handled and shipped via Designated Operators (DO) approved by their country&#8217;s national Civil Aviation Authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Designated Operators are Posts Offices that:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul_lispecial\">\n<li>Have procedures and training for controlling the acceptance of mail items containing dangerous goods destined for air transport;<\/li>\n<li>Obtain specific approval from their national civil aviation authority prior to accepting and transporting ECLB.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Guests are advised to check if your local post office is an approved DO prior to sending airmail consignments.<br \/>\nYou may do so through this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flyroyalbrunei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/listAuthorizedDOsLithiumBatteriesEn.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lithium batteries installed in equipment (UN3481 or UN3091), such as a mobile phone or a laptop, packed and handled in accordance with IATA DGR requirements, would be acceptable for transportation by air. Include aerosols.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul_lispecial\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Division 2.1 &#8211; flammable gases i.e. butane, propane<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Division 2.2 &#8211; non-flammable, non-toxic gases i.e. oxygen, liquid nitrogen, compressed air.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Division 2.3 &#8211; toxic gases i.e. chlorine, coal gas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3223 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/cargo3.png\" alt=\"Class 3\" width=\"550\" height=\"229\" \/><\/td>\n<td><strong>Class 3<\/strong> Flammable liquids &#8211; Examples are Petrol, Alcohol, etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3223 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/cargo4.png\" alt=\"Class 4\" width=\"550\" height=\"229\" \/><\/td>\n<td><strong>Class 4<\/strong> Flammable solids- substances liable to spontaneous combustion and substances, which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul_lispecial\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Division 4.1 &#8211; flammable solids such as hexamine solid fuel tablets for camping stoves, self-reactive substances and desensitized explosives.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Division 4.2 &#8211; substances liable to spontaneous combustion under the normal conditions encountered in air transport &#8211; such as Phosphorus, which burns by itself when exposed to air.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Class 4.3 &#8211; substances, which in contact with water emit flammable gases. i.e. &#8220;Dangerous when wet&#8221;. Example is generators, which produce oxygen by chemical reaction.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Class 5.2<\/strong> Organic peroxides &#8211; these are thermally unstable substance which may undergo heat generating, self accelerating decomposition &#8211; which may be explosive, rapid, sensitive to impact or friction or react dangerously with other substances.
